Research Environment
The University recently took the measured step of
inculcating research orientation at the affiliated college
level. About 500 research projects from teachers were
funded by the University (each receiving from Rs. 50,000
up to Rs. 3 lakh per project), thus disbursing as much as
Rs. 8 crore. In the latest budget, a provision of a
whopping Rs. 6 crore has been made for this purpose. The
University participated in the first ever Inter-University
Research Competition for students termed Avishkar, and it
was not surprising that the University won the Overall
Championship for consecutive years.
